2. 37th Los Angeles Lotus Festival

Celebrate the bloom of Echo Park Lake's beloved floating flowers with the annual Lotus Festival. Expect plenty of food, music, dragon boat races and, of course, the lotus flower beds in full bloom. The historic event celebrates the contributions of Asian-Americans to L.A., and this year, the 37th, will honor the Bangladeshi community.

3. L'Orchestre Afrisa International with special guest Ricardo Lemvo

Root yourself in the rich soil of silvery guitar riffs and deep polyrhythms as the band’s thirty-year history come alive. Embodying the Afro-Latin Diaspora, Lemvo blends his Afro-Cuban rhythms with pan-African styles (soukous, Angolan semba and kizomba) to create an amazing package of music with L’Orchestre Afrisa International.

5. Visions and Values: Jewish Life from Antiquity to America

Featuring changing displays of works from the Skirball’s permanent collection of Judaica—one of the largest in the world—this historically illuminating exhibition chronicles the struggles and achievements of the Jewish people over a span of 4,000 years. The exhibition’s latest addition is a series of audiovisual excerpts from Holocaust survivors, produced in collaboration with The Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education at USC. A companion exhibit features an interactive media kiosk where visitors can listen to and view full-length versions of the featured testimonies as well as nearly 1,000 other stirring testimonies.
